Thursday

Won $300 more last night just grinding away...not sure how much play I will get tonight as I need to clean up the condo in prep for my parents arrival tomorrow. I am sure I will get some poker play in over the next two weeks, just not a lot. I look forward to playing poker at the NL tables in Vegas in little over a week. Will be my first time playing NL live.

Hoping for another good week

Tuesday was a great day and I booked a $700 profit, Wednesday was a reversal though and I lost $100. I cant complain when wins are that high and losses are that low. My BR is now sitting at $25k even.

On my losing day my sets lost twice and I lost w/KK once. I chalked it up to one of those days.

Good start

Playing a patient game seems to be the way to go. Dont get too jiggy unless I have a strong hand etc etc. Made $500 yesterday, sweet. AA paid off big twice and some trip hands, all in all very good.

One hand UTG bet $7 Ep called and I raised to $25 w/KK, UTG pushed for $200 more. I thought long and hard and folded. Would you? Should I?

Lets see how I do today...

1/2 kicks ass!

So I have been playing 1/2 for a week to get my head back in the game and if by chance the bad beats still continued it would only cost me half. Thankfully the bad beats ended and cards started holding up and I actually had my best week ever at 1/2 and cleared $2k for the week.
I am going to stay at the 1/2 level until my parents leave and then jump up again.
My BR is now at $23,800. My goal is to hopefully get to $30k by the end of the year as I know I am going to have to give up something like $10k to the IRS.

Lets do it!

Downslide over?

Been away from posting due to frustration. I lost about $3k on a downward spiral of bad beats, outdrawn and bad situations (75%) and badplay/tilt for the other 25%. So I took a break and to get my head back in the game I have dropped down to $1/2 until I feel happy about poker and whats happenning. Its working so far and am up $1k this week, which at 1/2 is very good. I have decided to slum at 1/2 until after my parents have come and gone, thus for almost another 4 weeks. Of course 2 of those weeks I wont be playing much as they will be here.

Any guesses for my current BR?

Losing continues but bigger

Am still getting screwed over on the river. This time my AA big PF bet was called by 24h's with a low flop 946 and I bet pot and he called. Turn a 2, river a 4. Loss $400.

And then the frustration hit me and I couldnt stop myself from continuing to play and play tilted and threw away another $600.

Puts me down $1800 for the week and I hope I have it all out of the system now.

I'll go back to playing my "A" game tonight and do what I can to minimize my losses this week.

More of the same

Bad beat central is still here. I had two major hands with action in the whole session.

Hand 1

I have 8s8h and get trips on the flop. Opponent has AsJd. Flop is 8J4 (2 spades). Turn is 3rd spade, but I riase his bet anyway. River is 4th spade. I call his 1/4 pot bet. $200 lost

Hand 2

I have QJd and limp, Villain min. raises to $8, 4 see the flop. Flop AKT (2 spades). Checked to villain who bets $4, 1 caller, I raise to $20, Villain raises me $16, I raise back $30 he reraises me so I just push. Villain calls w/AA. Turn is a K. $400 loss.

Prior to these major hands I was missing the flop or getting outdrawn, nothing much happening but managing to stay above water.

Total loss for the night $507

I know these bad beats will eventually be eclipsed by strong hands holding up, I just hope it doesnt burn too much from my BR before that happens. It was already becoming majorly frustrating yesterday, let alone adding in tonights fun.

my week for bad beats

Well I am having my turn at a streak of 2 and 3 outers on the river. I lost 6 big pots because of river cards yesterday alone. Twice I had people check the nuts to me on the river but luckily for them I had a strong hand. I have played so long now that I hardly blink at bad beats anymore but I do start to get frustrated at an extended string of them and thats exactly what I am going through right now. Just need to try and not lose too much money while it happens.

Last week I ended up making $2k and it would have been way higher but I ran into many bad situations. Twice I had AK vs AA with a King high flop, DOH!

Yesterday I lost about $250 when my second session when into bad beat cetral and I couldnt work my way out.

Tonight I am going out so I cant try and win any back, will have to wait till Weds.
