Keep shooting

Well I played my "A" game tonight but the cards and players killed me. You know those nights where everything works against you...this was one of those nights. I was down $140 and I was playing as good as I could. Unfortunately I kept on getting sucked out on. These idiots were calling my bets when I was ahead and when they hit their cards on the river they didnt get 1 cent extra from me. How do I know they hit you ask...well being the monkeys they are they checked their strong hand and I knew they had hit so I checked and saw their flushes or gut shot straights. A common flaw of these chimps is to overplay their weak hands and underplay their strong hands, way to go! Every big draw hand missed, ie. 15 outs on the flop, they never hit. My AA against 46s - he gets his 3rd 6 on the river. My 99 on an 8 high flop, raise a SS to all his money and he had KK. If something could go wrong it would. There were many times during the night I almost broke something because I was making the right plays but not scoring. It makes me wonder how much I could've lost if I didnt know how to fold or when to check that last card when I felt they hit.

Because I knew I was playing my "A" game and I wasn't tilting I felt there was no reason to give up. For the next two hours I continued to play and the cards no longer burnt me and by only winning small or medium pots I clawed my way back to end up +$60 for the night. I felt a huge sense of accomplishment and gave myself a pat on the back for controlling my frustration and fighting through the crap to make that comeback.

A couple of hands for ya...

Two reasons I called his $10 flop bet. One I have seen people reraise with AK plenty of times and then bet out on the flop when they miss and secondly I have very little respect for SS play and am not scared of losing a max of an extra $10 on a decent call.

I just called his raise on the turn as I didnt want to scare him off and I know you always have to be wary of trips. He checked the river, so I was right to assume no trips and value bet him to call my two pair.
